Project 1: Hamptons Weekend Escape

About This Project

The home owner asked us to provide his family with a whole-house A/V solution for their new construction weekend retreat. We recommended Control4 as the smart home automation platform, given its scalable design, flexible third party product integration, remote system monitoring and its easy-to-use control interface and fully-functional iOS / Android app. The 140 lighting circuits in the home are all automated, as are the five HVAC zones, the multi-zone distributed audio system and the two local A/V systems in the Master Bedroom and Billiards Room. However, the crown jewel of this lovely home is the 8-seat dedicated projection home theater in the basement. Great care was taken to ensure we delivered an eye-popping, ground-shaking theater experience to the client, all while satisfying the nautical aesthetic requested by the interior decorator. This Bridgehampton residence was an Electronic House Home of the Year Finalist in 2009 and was featured on “MTV Teen Cribs.”

Project 2: Bridgehampton Estate

About This Project

This home modernization project is the third such endeavor Audio Den has completed for the client since 2004. The family requested that Audio Den focus on providing them with a high performance audio and video solution. They intend to spend a lot of time together in the home and they want to make sure everyone can enjoy themselves. The father confided that he had been interested in building a dedicated home theater for years and this remodeling project was his opportunity to make his dream come true. Audio Den is pleased to help make his vision a reality.

We have been doing business with Audio Den for over ten years, and we have used them in multiple homes. First and foremost they are technical experts with deep fluency in what is the “state of the art” for your equipment needs. Having said that they are not going to oversell you what you don’t need. They will work within a budget and find the best options for your price point. Most important, they are reliable. They execute. And they will be there for you after the install, to make sure it works, you know how to use it and if something’s not working they’ll fix it. We highly recommend Audio Den.

Project 3: West Village Style

About This Project

We had the pleasure of providing a smart home solution for a young couple and their growing family in Manhattan’s West Village. The architect and interior designer had a very modern, cosmopolitan aesthetic in mind. The client requested that we engineer the system to be streamlined, reliable and, above all else, easy to use. Given these requirements, in conjunction with the client’s affinity for Apple products, we chose Savant as the home automation system for this project.

This beautifully appointed apartment features fully-automated Lutron lighting and window treatments throughout, centralized distributed video to multiple TVs, eleven zones of distributed audio with a 4-stream music server, an advanced smart wireless computer network, as well as four zones of integrated HVAC control. The Living Room boasts an audiophile surround system featuring McIntosh electronics and Bowers & Wilkins speakers. All of the systems in the apartment are easily operated by the two in-wall iPad Mini touch screens, any of the iPod Touch integrated Savant remote controls or the client’s desktop and iOS apps.
